The Agile Globetrotter | Let’s travel together, and be a globe-trotter, a nomad experiencing life in different worlds and a variety of work environments, driven by diverse organizational cultures and management styles. We will challenge our thinking dimensions, discover other ways of doing and paths of being. Notice, that our way of doing changes our paths of being.
This trip starts with a first step, intention to learn and grow. So let’s make it clear with a crucial question, where is your call?
The Agile Globetrotter :
The end of this adventurous and fearless trip is that you draw your own lines, shapes, and colors of your evolving vision about agile, with your own real stories and critical experiences. If you choose to grow bolder, and you want to make this adventure special, we accompany you through our invite to continuously practice awareness toward important logical considerations that will enforce your discovery process and speed up your pragmatic learning.
So be continuously aware of:
- ACTION: Maximizing your call for action. The more you will maximize your call for action, the more you will experience. Be a source of pro-activity to promote a positive environmental and social change in the world around you. “Be the change you want to see in the world”. Contrast the theoretical knowledge you gain with the pragmatism of the practical appliance. If we don’t practice, the learning is conceptual, not yet real. Learning by doing is part of the agile philosophy.
- REFLECTION: Experiencing is a key to learn pragmatically, but by itself is not enough to gain relevant knowledge, we need a solid reflection. So how to get a rich reflection is the question? Increasing the feedback flow you receive, is an essential component to reach meaningful learning. How? Asking other individuals to share their vision openly. Reflecting based not only on our own perspective but also taking snapshots about others’ perspectives, does enrich our vision, increasing our understanding of our environment and therefore improving our interaction with it relatively.
- OPENNESS: Increasing the volume (quantity) and quality (veracity) of the information exchanged in your communications flows is crucial to your development path. How to do it? Remember that “Diversity makes us smarter”. Respect the interdependence of things and that we all have the right to think differently. So just remember to be flexible and open when you receive any feedback. Active listening is a good practice to learn. Your intention to understand and to be understood is key to build up a meaningful interaction. Also, be willing to be open to trying new things, it will enrich your experience in the end.
- SYNERGY: Take into account the relevant feedback and information you received and refine your initiatives to find out the great actions to focus on. It is important to seek a WIN/WIN productive partnership and try creating synergy with others around this common good you are trying to create. It will energize you and others to make things happen. The belief in doing what we do for the common good moves and energizes people vibrantly building contexts where common desires and aspirations can come true.
- TRACK: Track your vision and meaningful actions. Monitor, how you respond to change and to different stimuli in general. Why not start a value Journal? a journal to track your journeys and values you created within each one will help you to know yourself better and stimulate you to achieve more with, from, and for yourself and others. It might also help you to manage your time effectively, increasing your focus factor, so you create more value for yourself and for the community.
- EVOLVE: Evolve to approximate yourself to your real you to enjoy yourself and do what is more meaningful to you. Sometimes you will need to evolve “Going with the flow and taking advantage of it, enjoy surfing the waves”. The only thing that will always exist is the change, so do your best to not only adapt to it but to respond to it trying to steadily add value to the near future. Following a plan is important but it is much more important to evolve while developing your capacity to transform changes to possible benefits. If you fail, make sure you learn from your failures and forgive. Forgive others and yourself. Trust and be patient with our humanity to do better. Remember that we all have mistaken somewhere, sometimes. This you will practice each retrospective ceremony you celebrate. After several retrospectives, you should learn naturally to be patient, persistent, balanced, coherent, constructive, empathic, and altruist.
